Editor's note: We continue our tradition of using artwork on the December issue cover that expresses hope by the artists who are pain patients. Ms. Dunn, the artist and author of the brief statement below, us from Glen Caron, Illinois.

A dove is peace. It is alive. It expresses pain because of my illness and God loves me. It is a sign from above on the wings of a dove.

The Dove is an oil pastel and marker painting on manila paper. It is 8.5 inches long by 11 inches wide.
